Ergohome welcomes China interest

Guangzhou signs M.O.U. with Birmingham

Ergohome witnessed the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding (M.O.U.) at the ICC on 1st of July 2011. This co-operation agreement builds on a city twinning initiative dating from 2006. Signers included:

Gong'er Zhen - Vice Mayor of Guangzhou

Edward Peck - Pro Vice Chancellor University of Birmingham

Mike Whitby  - Birmingham City Council

New Guangzhou – Big City

New Guangzhou is China's 3rd largest city with a population of 12.7 Million and GDP of USD$164Bn and an average life expectancy at 79 years. Their economic plan includes raising real disposable income 10% year on year and encourages immigration of international scholars. Established in 214BC the city blossomed as a vital waypoint on the "marine silk road".

New Guangzhou – Big Plans

Guangzhou has recently grown by a vast building & key infrastructure development whilst still making ecological protection a priority. In the next phase Guangzhou seeks to expand as a knowledge economy, offering excellent business incubators to drive value-added products and services. Guangzhou is welcoming co-operation with leading Universities and cities worldwide.

Ergohome met China delegation

Ergohome fostered international co-operation by meeting with 3 different organisations at the event. Interest was shown in our SIPs research leadership with the University of Birmingham and in our high-density, system-build variant of the Ergohome.
