Ergohome is a “clean-sheet” solution that considers the needs of ALL its customers. We subscribe to the Universal Design approach that caters equally for disabled and able-bodied users. Design for All (DfA) concepts are included across the whole house to ensure trouble free easy-living.

Accessible features

Ergohome offers zero-step entries and completely flat floors. Our hallway and door openings are wide enough for wheelchairs. Throughout we have fitted easy clean surfaces, engineered wood floors and glass splash backs. Light switches and sockets are placed at easy access heights.

Lifetime homes standard

Ergohome can easily comply with all the 16 criteria determined in the Lifetime homes standard. Many features are included in the basic specification: Wider access car parking with level access to domestic platform lift. Ergohome is a single level home making access easy to living room, bathroom and bed space. Window cills are low to allow a seated view and openers are easy to hand. Exceeding the criteria for environmental controls Ergohome has remote control electric windows, free-mounted wireless light switches and thermostats. Assisted living special features like grab rails and tracking hoist are a simple retrofit when required. Ergohome has fitted switch pads where possible and the thermostats have clear analogue dials. Blinds and curtains are all operable from wheel chair height.

Safety incorporated

Ergohome controls are brought together in a single place for simplicity and safety. Heating, water, ventilation and electricity are centred in one simple dashboard. Our support team is on call to answer any homeowner’s query at any time. Thermostatic bath and shower controls keep you and your loved ones safe from hot water scalding.  There are no floor height changes, even onto the balcony, thereby reducing the risk of tripping and helping wheelchair users. The bathroom features a lockable drugs cabinet fitted at height to discourage tampering. Natural light in every room both reduces energy costs and improves clarity for poorly sighted residents.

Visitability is an important consideration in your home; you want all of your friends to be able to call at THEIR convenience. Your Ergohome can incorporate just the accessibility features that you desire; if your circumstances change then additional special features can be easily retrofitted.
